GVA provides service to the Palouse-Quad-City region in north central Idaho, identified by Moscow-Pullman and Lewiston-Clarkston urban areas; other regions are identified by Walla Walla-Tri-Cities urban areas in south central Washington and the Spokane Valley in eastern Washington. The appraisers, Sarah Miles and Ruby Stroschein, are both MAI Designated by the Appraisal Institute.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Idaho State University, specializing in Finance and Economics. Ruby earned her Master's Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Idaho. Both appraisers are Certified in Idaho and Washington, with primary coverage areas being North Idaho and Eastern/Central Washington. Both appraisers have extensive experience in appraising a variety of property types; please refer to the Portfolio tab above.

Gem Valley Appraisal was founded by Ruby Stroschein in 1986 in southeast Idaho.
In 1997 GVA moved to Moscow, Idaho.
Since the move GVA has been expanding its services and reaching new markets in the Pacific Northwest.
For Ruby the move opened a number of opportunities.
Not only was she able to complete her Master's Degree in Applied Economics but she has taught appraisal classes at U of I and WSU over the past several years.
