I love helping people buy and sell real estate and I love running my own business and meeting new people. Real estate is a service business. I am here to share my years of experience and knowledge to help my clients weave thru the legalities negotiations current market conditions and what makes a great home to purchase and how a home can sell quickly and for the most money.

I have been so blessed to have worked for many clients that I now consider friends. They truly are my definition of success. Personally I was born and raised in Des Moines. After living in Los Angeles and Seattle for a number of years I moved back home to help my aging parents. It was a very blessed circle of life decision and one that I will never regret.

I stumbled upon real estate and realized this was the perfect career for me. My business was mine to create I could be very successful or not so much. The decision was mine to make. I have been extremely blessed with this wonderful career that I work as a business and treat like my family.

When you sell your home in the great state of Iowa, you will need to bring your property taxes up to date.
So when homeowners sell, they will find the taxes due deducted, on their Settlement Statements, from their proceeds.
Depending on the date you close will determine the amount of months of taxes due.
Some taxes will be due now and some will be due at a later date which is usually credited to the buyer, on the Settlement Statement, so the buyer can pay those taxes when they are due.
Often sellers 'forget' about the credit of taxes they received when they purchased the home.
How can I prepare my home for a home inspection?
What will a home inspector be looking for?
The below list of items may be helpful in preparing for a home inspection.
Many of these items can be done with little or no cost and many are regular maintenance items for a home.
3. Divert all water away from the house; i.e. downspouts, sump pump, condensation drains, etc. Grade should slope away from the structure.
Clean out basement entry drains.
5. Paint all weathered exterior wood and caulk around the trim, chimney, windows and doors.
