Since 1975, the Northeast Arkansas Board of REALTORS(NEABOR), a non-profit organization, has provided real estate professionals with the resources they need to help them grow and prosper in the real estate profession. Only members of these types of organizations can use the term REALTORS. The term REALTORS is not a synonym for "real estate agent."
It is a distinctive and exclusive designation for those within the membership of the National Association of REALTORS. The term connotes business competence and high standards of business conduct. Each member pledges to observe a strict Code of Ethics written by the National Association of REALTORS. The preamble calls for every REALTORS to work for the preservation of the free enterprise system and the protection of private property ownership.

REALTORS are different from non-member licensees in that they voluntarily subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics.
If you believe that a REALTOR has violated one or more Articles of the Code of Ethics, you can file an ethics complaint alleging a violation(s) through the local association of REALTORS where the REALTOR holds membership, or participates in a REALTOR association-owned/operated MLS.

In addition, REALTORS agree as a condition of membership to arbitrate contractual disputes and specific non-contractual disputes as provided for in Article 17 of the NAR Code of Ethics.
