When it is at conservation pool (normal) lake elevation is 660 feet, water surface is 45,440 acres and has a shoreline of 740 miles.

Fishing is year 'round on Bull Shoals Lake.
Mark Twain is spread across southern Missouri in non-contiguous tracts of a few acres to many thousands.
In total it contains approximately 1.5 million acres.
The Forest Service manages Mark Twain National Forest to maintain its resources, such as timber and minerals, and preserve its unique natural character.
Our county, Ozark County, has 38,672 acres of National Forest.
Included in this is Devils Backbone Wilderness Area in the Northeast part of our county.
Hercules Glade Wilderness Area lies near our Western county line.
Located just a few miles Northwest of Theodosia, is the 23 miles of Glade Top Trail.
This is the only National Scenic Byway in Missouri.
The two lane gravel road that winds along the ridgetops and over the hills was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930's.
Because of the stunning and unique vistas, Glade Top Trail was added to The National Scenic Byway system in 1989.
To the South you can see the Boston Mountains in Arkansas and to the Northwest you can see the Springfield Plateau.
