Christie was born in San Francisco and raised in beautiful Napa Valley, California.
After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the Air Force, with assignments to the National Security Agency in Maryland, Misawa Japan, San Antonio and San Angelo, Texas, the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
She has deployed to the middle east and had numerous stateside temporary duties.
She retired after 21 years as a Master Sergeant.
During her time in the Air Force, Christie earned two Associate of Science degrees, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Fine Art degree.
